ABOUT
Holly Ferrie is a Contemporary Abstract Artist from Scotland working in the field of painting but also runs creative workshops for adults and children.
Holly’s work is inspired by the beautiful East Lothian coastline and beyond. This is home and where Holly feels a real connection with the sea ‘it is a place for grounding and solitude’.
The artwork reflects the ever changing seasons; from moody and atmospheric scenes to joyful and colourful pieces where the colours dance around the canvas.
The palette knife allows Holly to create movement and texture on the canvas, whilst brushes create a softer appearance. Mixing these two techniques creates Holly’s signature style of painting.
Painting from memory is very important aspect of the process as well. Doing this means there are no limits on the creativity and the paintings are completely open to interpretation.
